RICHLAND, Wash. – Shoppers in the Tri-Cities area seeking organic and sustainable groceries can find a variety of options at the Tri-Cities Food Co-op.This local co-op emphasizes community involvement and offers a wide selection of products. Veronika Pohl, a volunteer marketing representative from the co-op, highlighted their bulk wall, which includes different kinds of rice, coffees, nut mixes, and grains. “You can bring your own jars to fill up,” she said, adding that paper bags are also available for those who prefer them.The co-op, which opened in October of 2025, also features local artisan goods such as beef sticks from Pat and Tam’s, vinaigrettes, and local produce, like employee-grown micro-greens, mushrooms, fruit, vegetables, and more. “If it’s not local, it is organic,” Pohl stated. The co-op is preparing to open a coffee shop in the coming weeks, where they will serve their own coffee.Additionally, the co-op is expanding to include a new meat section with refrigeration centers for meats, dairy, and eggs, as well as frozen foods.Plus, the co-op plans events for Tri-Cities community members, such as the upcoming February Market on Saturday, Feb. 8th, which will feature goods like cutting boards, bath and body products, and more.Pohl confirmed, “You do not have to be a member to shop.” Membership at the co-op offers perks, and there are volunteer opportunities available.
