The Việt Nam Industrial Park Forum held in HCM City on Thursday brought together domestic and international industrial parks and related stakeholders to discuss the implementation of smart and sustainable industrial park models. The event aimed to provide a platform for industrial parks to share experiences, propose policy solutions, and foster cooperation to enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese industrial parks regionally and globally.

The transition from traditional industrial parks to smart and sustainable ones is an inevitable development in the context of the implementation of the National Strategy on Green Growth, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2030), and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26). This transition aligns with the nation’s growth ambitions and the global green transition towards Net-Zero.

Green industrial parks are assessed based on international standards such as LEED, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and BCA Green Mark certification. The LEGO Group’s $1.3 billion factory in the Việt Nam – Singapore Industrial Park III in Bình Dương Province, designed to be the group’s most sustainable in the world, is an example of a new factory in the country that meets green and sustainable standards.

Việt Nam remains an attractive destination for global investment flows, with total registered FDI reaching nearly $400 billion. The country’s transition to smart and sustainable industrial parks will not only attract high-quality FDI but also contribute to the nation’s green growth and the global green transition towards Net-Zero.
