The workers of the Food Industry in Contramaestre, firmly convinced that unity is the strength leading to the development of productive potentialities in the midst of a complex economic scenario, held their Annual Balance Assembly.Administrative and union representatives of the 22 units of the food sector of the municipality, with a critical and renovating spirit, evaluated in depth how to transform the deficiencies presented in the year 2024, with a view to improving their work, committed to the production of food for the people.
Contramaestre Basic Food Unit, despite the objective limitations that affected the sector in the previous stage, carried out a sustained work that allowed facing and overcoming shortcomings to meet its production plan in tons at 117.3 percent and in values at 145 percent.
This scope speaks of the commitment of the more than 300 workers of the referred Industry, who deployed multiple actions in search of compliance, through alternative productions of great popular acceptance.
The productive chaining with local agricultural structures and from other municipalities, allowed to increase the offer of food products in the presence of difficulties with raw materials, mainly flour, oil and sugar.
The year 2024 was also significant for the men and women of the Food Industry, when they achieved more than 20 million pesos in profits, which demonstrates the economic efficiency of the sector in Contramaestre.
Amaury Cabrera Álvarez, director of the entity, said that the untypicality of last year demanded to encourage creativity, and therefore the elaboration of the basic basket bread was stimulated with extenders, Creole sweets, fried foods, cassava balls, caldosa, pickled vegetables, among other offers.
By the end of the annual stage, the consumption of all energy carriers was below what was planned, implementing work strategies aimed at saving, without interrupting the productive flow according to their social purpose.
The Annual Balance of Contramaestre’s food workers cited good examples of the efforts made by many workers to guarantee food to the people, while emphasizing the need to further strengthen the assortments with an increase in quality, given the great demand for the food produced by this sector.
Given the tense economic scenario that the country is going through today, it was also necessary to incorporate young people for the benefit of the industry, who bring new ideas to contribute with initiatives that revolutionize the productive workshops.
Topics such as attention to man, internal control and the confrontation of indiscipline and illegalities, sometimes evident in some workers’ collectives, were widely debated, matters in which the commitment to be more energetic with the human capital that incurs in the violation of certain productive norms was ratified.
