Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls 

​NEW DELHI: Power shares closed lower in the Friday’s session.KPI Green Energy Ltd.(up 5.00%), Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(up 2.91%), GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd.(up 2.77%), Torrent Power Ltd.(up 2.37%), Ravindra Energy Ltd.(up 1.73%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(up 1.44%), KEC International Ltd.(up 1.43%), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.33%), Karma Energy Ltd.(up 0.96%) and Energy Development Company Ltd.(up 0.77%) stood among the top gainers. ACME Solar Holdings Ltd.(down 3.20%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(down 2.89%), GE Power India Ltd.(down 2.42%), Suzlon Energy Ltd.(down 2.39%), CESC Ltd.(down 2.14%), SJVN Ltd.(down 2.06%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(down 2.00%), JSW Energy Ltd.(down 1.94%), Adani Power Ltd.(down 1.86%) and Inox Wind Energy Ltd.(down 1.70%) were among the top losers of the day.The NSE Nifty50 index ended 43.4 points down at 23559.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 197.97 points at 77860.19. Tata Steel Ltd.(up 4.36%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 3.52%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 3.42%), Trent Ltd.(up 3.36%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.01%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.87%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.62%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 1.43%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.35%) and NTPC Ltd.(up 1.33%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
