Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls 

​NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed lower in the Friday’s session.NMDC Ltd.(up 2.35%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 1.80%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 0.13%) and The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 0.08%) stood among the top gainers. Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 3.42%), 20 Microns Ltd.(down 3.42%), Pokarna Ltd.(down 1.53%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 1.51%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(down 1.37%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 1.30%), MOIL Ltd.(down 1.16%), KIOCL Ltd.(down 1.08%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 0.79%) and Coal India Ltd.(down 0.36%) were among the top losers of the day.The NSE Nifty50 index ended 43.4 points down at 23559.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 197.97 points at 77860.19. Tata Steel Ltd.(up 4.36%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 3.52%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 3.42%), Trent Ltd.(up 3.36%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.01%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.87%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.62%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 1.43%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.35%) and NTPC Ltd.(up 1.33%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack. On the other hand, Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 2.84%), ITC Ltd.(down 2.33%), State Bank of India(down 2.01%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 1.73%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 1.55%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.31%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.22%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.22%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 1.21%) and Reliance Industries Ltd.(down 1.16%) closed in the red.(You can now subscribe to our ETMarkets WhatsApp channel)
