CSTThe Social Security Administration (SSA) is preparing to distribute another round of payments this Monday, February 3 to eligible beneficiaries, but how do you know if you’re due to be paid your money? The latest round of deposits is expected to include payments averaging around $2000, reaching retirees, survivors, and those receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). It will come as a major boost to Americans looking to repel the cost of living crisis, particularly as Donald Trump and the Republicans begin to apply tariffs on all of the USA’s close trading partners; who are responding in like.Social Security benefits have seen a rise of 2.5% this year, and this adjustment has affected both the average payments and maximum benefit amounts. Now the average monthly payment for retired workers has gone up from $1,927 to $1,976.In addition to the COLA increase, the maximum monthly retirement benefit for Social Security varies depending on the age at which someone begins claiming benefits. At age 62, a person can claim up to $2,831. By contrast, this is $5,108 for someone aged 70.While the early payment on January 31 was aimed at SSI recipients, the next batch of Social Security payments will be sent out on Monday, February 3 and will include individuals who started receiving benefits before May 1997. The SSA will continue to distribute payments to other beneficiaries based on their birth dates throughout the month, with regular disbursements taking place every Wednesday. Additionally, as February concludes, the SSA will send March’s SSI payments in advance. If you’re expecting a payment but it hasn’t arrived yet, the SSA recommends waiting at least three business days before reaching out. Payments are often deposited directly into bank accounts, but if you receive them by mail, delivery times may vary. For further information or payment updates, you can visit the official Social Security Administration website or check your My Social Security account.
