Shanghai Commercial Bank (SCB) has teamed up with banking solutions provider Planto to “enhance banking experiences” for SMEs in Hong Kong.SCB joins Planto to support Hong Kong SMEsTogether, the companies have introduced a range of e-banking solutions, including a new internet banking platform with digital account opening capabilities.Moreover, SCB and Planto are also unveiling a new Credit Insights Platform (CIP), which has been developed through the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and Cyberport’s Fintech Supervisory Sandbox 3.1 Pilot.CIP is designed to enhance lending decision-making processes by leveraging AI and data from Interbank Account Data Sharing (IADS) to deliver credit insights.The pair have committed to further develop “additional features” in the future to “address the unmet needs of SMEs”.Founded in 2017, Planto provides financial institutions with an open banking API development and testing service, alongside a suite of solutions for financial wellness, retail cashflow analytics and personalised financial insights.In 2022, Planto partnered with Cogo, a New Zealand-based carbon footprint tracking company, to create banking software that enables consumers and small enterprises to monitor their daily environmental impact in relation to their spending and operations.
