On November 16th, a convoy of over 45 sleek Porsche sports cars arrived at the Our Daily Bread Food Pantry (ODBFP) on Winterberry Drive, bearing generous gifts. This marks the fifth year of the partnership between the Paradise Region Gruppe and Porsche Naples. The organizers, Scott Harle and Becky Grafer-Harle, rallied local Porsche Clubs and enthusiasts to join in the cause by filling their cars with much-needed food items for the Saturday delivery. In addition, the Naples Porsche dealership held a food collection drive to support the Pantry.

A special shout-out to Scott and Becky for ensuring the success of this Thanksgiving delivery convoy. Each car was loaded with non-perishable food items, and after a quick unloading, the drivers headed off to lunch at Mango’s. Among the group were loyalists who proudly shared that they were part of the original group from five years ago.

The ODBFP is dedicated to providing nourishing food to individuals in need. Each household that visits the Pantry receives a balanced cart of fresh fruits and vegetables, protein, bread, and pantry staples. This cart of food can feed a family of four for three days, saving them over $100 to use for other necessities. The Pantry also has a special children’s program that serves several schools in the area, ensuring that no child goes to school hungry or experiences hunger over the weekend. According to Evelyn Rossetti-Ryan, Executive Director of ODBFP, they currently provide over 400 weekend meals weekly.

Thanks to their ability to secure donated food and purchase food at discounted prices, ODBFP can stretch every dollar three times more than the average grocery store. This means that every dollar donated becomes three dollars, enabling the Pantry to create carts of food filled with fresh fruits and vegetables, protein, milk, eggs, and other nutritious items for families in need. On November 16th, at the Winterberry location alone, over 950 households were served, and the delivery from the Porsche Naples group will add to the joy of giving for these families. The Thanksgiving fixings came early this year, delivered in shiny Porsche sports cars!
