This remarkable growth comes as the brand celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2025, marking two decades of dedication to delivering premium pet care experiences. By focusing on innovation, franchise support, and operational excellence, K9 Resorts has positioned itself as a leader in a booming industry poised to reach $35.8 billion in pet boarding revenue by 2031.
In 2024, K9 Resorts demonstrated unparalleled dominance in the pet care sector through strong performance metrics and significant market expansion. The brand’s annual revenue-per-square-foot figures are more than double the industry average, while resort-level EBITDA is nearly twice the standard, showcasing the efficiency and profitability of its operations.
Kicking off the year with a $10 million investment, K9 Resorts used these funds to fuel its ambitious expansion strategy. The brand entered untapped markets across the U.S., signing multi-unit agreements to launch new resorts in Colorado, Virginia, and Florida, while debuting in states such as Utah, Nevada, Illinois, and Nebraska. Construction also began on K9 Resorts’ first California location near LAX airport, set to open in early 2025, designed to meet the growing needs of traveling pet parents in the Los Angeles area.
K9 Resorts’ growth is driven by a leadership team committed to operational excellence and innovation. The appointment of Dan Wheeler as Chief Marketing Officer in 2024 brought new expertise to the brand, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing the guest experience and further establishing itself as an industry leader.
The brand’s dedication to excellence was recognized through prestigious accolades, including the 2024 Pet Care Business Excellence Award from the International Boarding and Pet Services Association (IBPSA), marking the fifth consecutive year of this achievement.
