SCZone Chairman Waleed Gamal El-Din has inked two new contracts worth $38 million for food and textile projects in the West Qantara Industrial Area. These projects, covering 137,000 square metres, are expected to create 1,450 job opportunities and commence operations in the final quarter of 2025.

The first contract, valued at $8 million, was signed with Turkish company Saray Bisküvi ve Gıda San. A.Ş., a renowned snack producer with a global reach. The project will span 45,000 square metres and generate 450 jobs. Saray Bisküvi ve Gıda San. A.Ş. specializes in biscuits, wafers, chocolates, cakes, crackers, and candies, exporting over 50,000 tons annually to more than 110 countries.

The second contract, worth $30 million, was signed with Chinese company Kelida, a leading manufacturer of fabrics and home textiles with over 30 years of experience. The project, covering 92,000 square metres, is expected to create 1,000 direct job opportunities and export over 90 percent of its products to Europe and the United States.

These contracts mark a significant step towards boosting the economic growth of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, creating job opportunities and attracting foreign investments.
