US-based fintech DoubleCheck Solutions has appointed industry veteran Ashwin Rangan as its new CEO, effective immediately.DoubleCheck’s new CEO, Ashwin Rangan (Image: LinkedIn)Rangan succeeds co-CEOs Joel Schwartz and Bill Amelio – Schwartz will transition to the chief innovation officer (CIO) position, while Amelio will remain on the DoubleCheck advisory board.The incoming CEO brings nearly 40 years of experience in “innovation, artificial intelligence, and scaling businesses”, says DoubleCheck.Previously, Rangan held the roles of chief innovation and information officer (CIIO) and SVP of engineering at the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).Before his time at ICANN, Rangan acted as chief product officer (CPO) and chief information officer (CIO) at MarketShare. He also held key tech-focused roles at Bank of America, Conexant, and Edwards Lifesciences, as well as serving as CIO and GM of Walmart’s e-commerce initiatives from 2004 to 2006.Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Texas, DoubleCheck offers financial institutions an overdraft and non-sufficient funds (NSF) solution that provides real-time notifications to consumers and small businesses if they have non-sufficient funds in their accounts.Schwartz states that Rangan will focus on “scaling and stabilising DoubleCheck’s current operations” and “expanding the reach” of the company’s solutions.
