A leadership transition is underway at expense management platform Brex, as CFO Ben Gammell succeeds chief product officer (CPO) Karandeep Anand as president.Karandeep Anand steps down as Brex president (Image: LinkedIn)Former Microsoft director Anand, who has served as CPO and president of Brex since 2023, is now moving into the role of advisor.In a LinkedIn post announcing the succession, Anand claims his tenure coincided with a “transformational” period at Brex, which he says saw the tripling of company revenues, the expansion of its platform to 50+ markets, and “record customer retention”.“It is this strong foundation that makes now the right time for me to pass the baton,” his statement continues. “Personally, it is time for me to focus on other priorities in my life – a decision that was not an easy one to make.”While assuming the role of president, Gammell will continue to serve the role of CFO, as he has done since 2022.To support its growth, Brex secured a $235 million revolving credit facility last month. The facility saw Citi participate as a senior lender, with support from investment platform TPG Angelo Gordon.At the time, the US-based fintech revealed plans to use the facility to grow its corporate card offering, and its suite of expense management, travel, banking and bill pay solutions.Brex was contacted by FinTech Futures regarding the president transition.
