US banking heavyweight BNY has appointed former BlackRock exec Carolyn Weinberg as its chief solutions innovation officer (CSIO), a newly created position, effective 3 February.Carolyn Weinberg named CSIO at BNY (Image: LinkedIn)Weinberg, who will also be joining BNY’s executive committee, says her new role will focus on “working closely with teams across the company to help imagine and commercialise new products and solutions that meet client needs”.The new CSIO previously worked at global asset manager BlackRock, serving as global head of product, iShares and index investments for four years before being promoted to chief product innovation officer in February 2023.Prior to her stint at BlackRock, Weinberg held several leadership positions at Citi, Deutsche Bank, and Morgan Stanley, where she oversaw various initiatives across corporate derivatives.Robin Vince, BNY CEO, states that Weinberg’s “breadth of experience in product innovation, development and commercialisation will enhance our ability to quickly grasp and cater to the biggest trends in capital markets”.BNY, which manages over $52.1 trillion in assets under custody and/or administration, recently adopted Nvidia’s DGX SuperPOD with DGX H100 systems to enhance its computing processing capabilities.
