Credit: CanvaACCIONA Energía has officially announced the achievement of Commercial Operation Date (COD) for its Union Solar Farm in Ohio (325MWp), marking the beginning of energy delivery to the Ohio grid. Located in Marysville, central Ohio, the Union Solar project consists of 760,000 solar panels spread across 22 square miles. With a capacity of 325MWp, it can supply power to nearly 62,000 households. The project benefits from a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Amazon.In addition to its environmental impact, the Union Solar farm has brought significant economic benefits to the local communities. During peak construction, over 370 jobs were created, with more than 80% of the workforce coming from Ohio. The project will also provide up to 20 permanent jobs once operational. Furthermore, a portion of the annual revenues will be reinvested in the local community through ACCIONA’s Social Impact Management program, which aims to improve the quality of life for residents in the areas where the projects are located.ACCIONA Energía has been operating in North America for 20 years, employing over 250 people across the US and Canada.
